How Discovering Human Design Has Illuminated My Path

Imagine wandering through life feeling like you’re paddling upstream, struggling to find your flow. Then, one day, someone hands you a map that reminds you of your Soul’s Purpose and reveals the currents meant just for you—currents that make the journey effortless, even joyful. That’s exactly how it felt when I discovered Human Design.

A lot of people ask me how I got into Human Design, so here’s the story…

Before I stumbled upon Human Design, I was burning out, constantly trying to match the energy of the world around me, and struggling to keep up...to do what other people do… I was already using my innate Projector magic as a yoga teacher and men’s coach, but without full understanding of my uniqueness. I was dabbling in Astrology at the time, reading horoscopes and learning about planetary transits. I was looking for a system that would allow me to truly SEE my clients and give them more dialed-in, appropriate guidance. After getting a mind-blowing natal chart reading from a gifted Astrologer, I decided to find a program and start training to become an astrologer myself…that search quickly lead me to Human Design – a system that shows exactly how your astrology is imprinted into your body on a chakra-level - your energy blueprint. Since I already knew a lot about the chakras, I was very intrigued…

Learning that I am a Projector (and unusual type of human who is designed to guide and makes up 20% of the population) changed everything. It wasn’t just a label—it was an invitation to embrace my true strengths and realign my life in ways that felt natural and empowering. In this post, I’ll share how understanding my own design has helped me unlock success, fulfillment, and the vision behind Rainbro Universe. And if you’re curious about your own energetic blueprint, my story just might inspire you to start your own journey of self-discovery.

1. Understanding My Projector Energy

As a Projector, I thrive not through constant action, but through insight, guidance, and being recognized for my gifts. Understanding this was like giving myself permission to stop trying to be a Generator (or Manifesting Generator)—and start owning my role as a subtle guide.

I also had to grasp my Projector Strategy – waiting for the invitation (to lead/guide). Projectors naturally want to know and help other people with our wise insights SO BADLY…but we have to wait to be accurately recognized and invited to guide; otherwise, our well-meaning [but unsolicited] advice usually gets rejected, leaving us feeling bitter…I had already started to feel pretty bitter as a coach for two main reasons:

1. I was trained to hustle to find clients on social media by butting into the comments on random people’s posts or sliding into their DM’s – a conventional approach that DID NOT work for me…

2. I was also an OnlyFans content creator at that time without realizing how incorrect that was for me, and it was getting me A TON of incorrect recognition and invitations (mostly men bugging and sexually harassing me instead of inviting me to coach/guide them)…Not to mention that I was just getting really burned out from non-stop content-creation, posting and pointless chatting in my DM’s.

   
   

Tip: If you’re a Projector, honor your need for rest and strategic action rather than constant effort, and learn to wait for the invitation.

2. The Power of My 3/5 Profile: Embracing Experimentation

I’m a 3/5 profile, which means I learn through trial and error. My life has been a whirlwind of experiences, especially over the past five years—moving to Costa Rica, farming, social media, becoming a YouTube and OnlyFans creator, and teaching naked yoga online. I used to see my chaotic journey as a shit show, but Human Design helped me reframe it. It’s my nature to experiment, fail, learn, and grow. This is how I gain wisdom and experiential knowledge, and it’s why I have so much insight to share with others.

After a few years of hardcore trial and error, I ran into SO MANY dead ends and discovered SO MANY things that didn’t work for me. I felt like a fuck-up and started to become very jaded and pessimistic. Learning that this is a common pattern for 3/5’s (especially 3/5 Projectors) helped me to reframe this: I was making a lot of grand discoveries, and although I tried a lot of things that didn’t work, I discovered a few things that I could stick with (one of them being Human Design)!

Tip: If you have a 3/5 profile, embrace the messiness of your path with a sense of humor—it’s how you gain deep, valuable wisdom.

3. Being Splenic: My Superpower of Intuition and Bravery

My Splenic Authority makes me incredibly intuitive and brave. I make decisions in the moment, based on a deep inner knowing. This has allowed me to take bold leaps of faith—whether it’s launching new projects, moving across the world, or guiding others through transformation. Trusting my Splenic wisdom has been life-changing, AND it’s a quality that makes me great at inspiring and empowering others to make more daring choices in their own lives!

Tip: If you have Splenic Authority, trust your first instinct—it’s usually right.

4. My Most Prominent Gates:

Conscious Sun in Gate 53: The Firestarter

Gate 53 gives me an innate excitement about starting new things, and I naturally encourage others to take bold first steps in their own journeys. Whether it’s a new career, a rebrand, creative pursuit, or personal transformation, I thrive in the energy of fresh beginnings and love empowering others to step into the unknown with courage. Since your Conscious Sun Gate has the biggest impact on your overall expressed personality, this is a huge part of who I am and my soul’s mission in this lifetime.

Tip: If you have Gate 53, lean into your role as a catalyst—your enthusiasm is contagious!

Conscious Earth in Gate 54: Ambition for Growth

I’m deeply driven to improve myself and my community. Gate 54 fuels my ambition to elevate not just my own life but also those around me. This is how I ground myself, and also why I’m so passionate about Rainbro Universe—it’s a space for collective growth and transformation!

Tip: If you have Gate 54, channel your ambition into uplifting others as well as yourself.

Unconscious Sun in Gate 51: The Power to Wake People Up

Gate 51 gives me the ability to shock people into alignment, like a cold plunge that jolts them into awareness. I’ve learned to consciously use this energy to inspire breakthroughs in others, guiding them toward deeper truths and transformation. Your Unconscious Sun Gate also has a huge impact on your personality, but it’s more veiled from your awareness (until you discover it and make it conscious)!

Tip: If you have Gate 51, use your power of impact with intention—it can create profound shifts.

Unconscious Earth in Gate 57: Deep Intuitive Wisdom

Gate 57 gives me an innate ability to sense what is healthy, safe, and aligned. This intuitive knowing allows me to guide others toward well-being, whether it’s through movement, mindset, or lifestyle choices. This is a big part of my spiritual path – how I connect with the Divine.

Tip: If you have Gate 57, trust your instincts when it comes to health and safety—they are deeply attuned.

5. The Channels That Define Me

I also have the Channel of Judgment and the Channel of the Alpha. On top of being a Projector, these channels enhance my ability to discern what needs improvement and inspire others to step into their best selves (at least when they recognize and invite me to).

Tip: If you have leadership channels, own your role as a guide, but there are different leadership styles. You can dial in your own leadership style through learning the nuances of your design!

6. Knowing My Design Has Set Me Free

Understanding all of this has helped me decondition and fully embrace who I am. I now go for my dreams with full confidence that I am aligned with my life’s Purpose, knowing that my unique gifts are my greatest strengths. Human Design has also allowed me to reframe my struggles—not as failures, but as essential parts of my path. Even when others don’t see or understand me, I now see, value, and understand myself. Without knowing my design, I would probably still be flailing, forcing and struggling with things that weren’t correct for me; I almost certainly would not have the energy and clarity to step boldly into my purpose as the founder of Rainbro Universe!
